Questions

If you’d told me 15 months ago that I’d soon meet a girl with whom I’d fall hopelessly in love, and then that after over a year of video chats and phone calls and letters and talking and laughing and crying, that I’d fly across an ocean to see her

… well I’d probably believe you.

Because if there is one girl for me, one girl who understands why I do the things I do,one girl who loves me not in spite of my strange quirks but because of them, if there is one girl that will have conversations with me about things that matter, and about things that don’t, if there is one girl who is so different from me but in those differences contrasts me so perfectly that I feel incomplete in her absence, one girl who shares my values and perspective on all aspects of life, if there is one girl who fills my stomach with butterflies and my chest with the biggest breath of fresh air every single time I see her, if there is one girl with whom I’d fall hopelessly in love… well I’m not surprised that she lives on the other side of the world.

There is only one of you. You are one in 6.7 billion. And as much as it may sometimes seem like the world has dealt us a shitty hand, I still wake up every single morning and feel like the luckiest girl on earth. Because you are one person. One in 6.7 billion. And I love you, more than I will ever know.

I will see you tomorrow.

This time next week, you’ll be in my arms.

That’s seven days.

That’s one… ONE of each day of the week.

There’s only one more Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before I see you.

Seven days.

ONE week.

I can’t. even.

One.

Week.

Everywhere I go, something reminds me of you.

and I’ve been thinking.  I really want to come back to Berlin with you.  Here are 9 reasons why you’d love Berlin:

1. Really cheap food and very vegetarian-friendly.

2. The flea markets sell old video game consoles. I’m sure we could find you a working Sega.

3. I’ve seen like 11 pugs since I’ve arrived.  I mean, I can’t guarantee that they make up the majority of puppy breeds, but… they’re around.

4. They have all these parks everywhere, and I mean everywhere. You could draw and I could read and we could spend a Sunday afternoon having a picnic.

5. Bikes, so many bikes.

6. It has a beautiful art culture. You’d fit right in.

7. It’s very gay-friendly so I could hold your hand everywhere we go.

8. The music scene is fantastic. You wouldn’t have to worry about your city not making the tour list.

9. It’s really easy to get around by transit. You’d wouldn’t have to learn to drive.

I have 9 more days here.  It’s all rather bittersweet because the one thing that would make this trip perfect, is if you were with me right now.
